About Sophie
I am passionate about students improving reading and writing skills. I have studied English Language Arts for 5 years and received a Bachelor's of Science in Secondary Education of English Language Arts. I have also received a Minor degree in French Language and Composition from the University of Missouri - Columbia. I have been teaching high school and middle school English and French for about 5 years.

First, I have the student write in order to understand their writing habits and technique. I also use this as a way to get to know my student.
Then, I will hone writing skills by in-depth mechanics and language lessons. Typically, I use a novel in order to delve into conversation about lens, perspective, technique, and purpose. I use resources such as Google Classroom, Kahoot, Vocabulary.com, NoRedInk.com, etc.
Finally, I administer some sort of writing process as an assessment to monitor learning and need for reteaching material.
My aim is to create fun learning opportunities which are concentrated on real world learning.
