About Jessica
Experienced college tutor, knowledgeable in online tutoring practices.
I am passionate about helping students succeed in the subject of their choice. I love watching their confidence grow as they learn new skills.
I have experience tutoring students in a variety of subjects, including World History, Bible Studies, Study Skills, Linguistics, and World Music.
I have served as a Level III tutor for Gordon College's Academic Success Center, and have also spent the past year serving as the head tutor for the History Department, therein.

Almost immediately I will ask the student to take a learning-style assessment. I have seen too many students struggling to understand the material, not because the material is too hard for them, but because they are not engaging in the study-style that best suits their learning process.
Then, I will connect what we are learning, to what the student is excited about. Maybe they love story-telling, but cannot stand biology - have you ever heard the story of how our cells work? It is amazing! Suddenly a whole new world is unlocked and at their finger-tips!
I have worked with students on a variety of learning spectrums. I have experience working with students who have learning disabilities, ESL students, and those on the autism spectrum. I have a passion for making learning accessible and fun!
