About Kate
Hello, I`m Kate.
I am lecturer and tutor for English KS3, GCSE and the 11+ exam. I prepare students for exams, and cover the main boards - AQA, Edexcel, WJEC and OCR. For entrance exams, I coach towards entrance to schools such as St Pauls, Westminster, Wycombe Abbey and City of London - to name but a few!
I work online through skype and google docs. Working in a shared document online allows my students and I to read and annotate texts together, and to write and edit in real-time. Skype allows us the discuss the work as we do so.
I am lecturer and tutor for the 11+ exam. I have experience coaching students towards the St Pauls, Westminster and City of London exams, to name but a few! We will begin our program of study with an informal chat to meet each other and discuss the students needs and aspirations. In the first session we will perform an assessment - this will allow me to gauge the student's ability and adapt work to suit their needs.
After each tutorial, I write a report that outlines the topics we have covered, and becomes a means to track progress throughout the sessions. I keep this log on a google document and add the most recent entry to the top of the page. This log will be shared with parents and guardians every week/ fortnight depending on requirements.
In between sessions, I am on-hand by text or email.
About me:
I have first class degree in English Literature from St Andrews and an MA in Authorial Practice. My work has been recognized by numerous awards and scholarships.
I have worked as a professional tutor for 5 years.
