About Jess
Hi, I’m Jess! I graduated with an ATAR of 96.55, scoring highest in English, psychology and mathematics. I have since taken on tutoring with students from the private high school I attended as well as others in the area. I received excellent awards in all of these subjects and am a recipient of the Australian Long Tan award- recognizing leadership and teamwork. In my final year of VCE, I was also School Captain and had the main role in our musical production, which led me to receiving the Ampol All-Rounder award in recognition of leadership, community, sport, attitude and service. I am currently doing a second gap year and am volunteering at a charitable organization in the north of England for the next 12 months. I have two years of experience in tutoring, with both once-off and ongoing sessions available.

My style of tutoring is YOUR style of tutoring- meeting students where they are both emotionally and intellectually is the most important part of tutoring for me, for there is far more to achieving results than simply technique. Together we’ll develop your English by targeting areas that you struggle with most and strengthening the parts your language exceeds in already. My favorite part: scheduling study in an efficient way that allows you to prioritize study and see results without compromising your social life and hobbies. My tutoring style acknowledges the importance of a healthy balance between life and study, which is practically met through diligence in routine and structure. This is a holistic approach which takes into account both in-school and at-home lifestyle preferences such as learning style, sleep habits, social well-being and exercise. Previously as a tutor, I have done 30-60 minute online or in-person sessions, but also have had these extend to 2 hours. I am flexible with time to give you the help you need, when you need it most. I have the most experience in exam/test preparation for both content and skill-based subjects (mainly psychology and English), and can provide guidance with essay structure, memorization techniques and study habits.
