Relaxed atmosphere and a VERY knowledgeable instructor. Always able to get you through the plateau. The benefit of learning from a teacher that actually makes a living by playing music is that you get real solutions and adaptability to your unique style and level. In other words this is not a cookie cutter lesson. His lessons are individualized to the student for the best results.

Instruction is informative. Wayne is very patient with my son and will help explain things over and over, if necessary. Couldn't give 5 stars only because sometimes building isn't open yet in time for our morning lesson, so we have to walk around back to alley door. Not that huge a deal...as we can always text Wayne and he will let us in if need be.

Although he has a prepared curriculum for new students he is willing and able to work with students with experience prior to starting lessons with him. He works well with all ages including older (much) students. He teaches a variety of styles. He is good at identifying improvements in playing, but doesn't force them on his students, simply recommending changes. This give time to consider, try and accept. He offers flexibility in scheduling lessons.

He has taught my son lessons for the last 3 years and I have continually been impressed. He is very relatable to my son, for example getting music for him to practice that he is interested in to keep his interest. My son respects him and loves playing because of him.
