About Josh

My teaching approach:

Specializing in guitar, bass, and drum lessons, I'm a 25 year old Cleveland native, been playing since age 11 and teaching since age 18. A student of the blues, I've played in many different styles of bands, and regularly play solo acoustic gigs. I have a love for everything that grooves, from funk to punk rock and back again. My students enjoy personalized lesson plans, brought to their front door. I personally guarantee you will be up and running after our first session together.

My influences are:

Jimi Hendrix, Robert Johnson, Jaco Pastorius, Jerry Garcia, Miles Davis, and Flea.

My guitar lessons take place in:

The student's home

Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:

Weekdays after 6pm Weekends after 10am

Guitar Techniques:

Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Open tuning, Fingerstyle, Slide Guitar, Vocal Accompaniment, Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Song Writing, Guidance In Equipment Selection

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

We can start with what you like to listen to, and go from there. I recommend you pick up your instrument and see what you can do with it, but if you've never even tried, that works too. I've taught absolute beginners and I've taught seasoned musicians. Anyone is welcome.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

From our first lesson, I can evaluate where you are in terms of skill and understanding of your instrument, and from there, I custom build our lesson plans. No two students are the same, and their curriculum should be fit for their needs.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

Anyone who has a love and passion for music. Must be determined, must be focused.
