About Kofi
Star Scholars is very specific to each student's needs and style of learning. We are a team of tutors/teachers, with 3-15 years of experience, who focus on customizing learning to a diverse group of students. Our tutors/instructors are well qualified with a degree in their respective specialties.
I enjoy seeing students grow into confident individuals. To see a strident start out at a level 1 them within the next few months functioning on a level 4. In addition to that seeing a student develop a proper thesis statement or have an A or B on their Math finals brings me the most joy. Meeting new prospects is always a reminder of the great work that my staff and I undertake each day.
I have a plethora of experience with CUNY students.Starting as a student to Teacher's Assistant to a Continuing Education Teacher, it has been 15 years of learning, educating and ongoing professional development. Mastering Mathematics and the Common Core was a journey that humbly started in my adolescent years.

Students/clients come to register for our session. We give student a diagnostic test to properly identify academic strengths and weaknesses. Students are then given homework help and academic coaching based on their needs.
We've worked with multilingual and multi skilled learners. Being a product of the CUNY system, it's no wonder we have diverse staff with diverse abilities!
Ensure that they have a strong background in the subject or test they're prepping you for.Confirm their qualifications beforehand. Always confirm sessions and location up to 2 hours in advance to avoid any discreprencies and miscommunication.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They should be aware of their strengths and weaknesses. They should also consider the fact that every teacher has a different pedagogical approach. Test Prep is very different than tutoring to improve grades and confidence.
