About Mariah
Been tutoring since 2014, as a volunteer in high school then in college. Didn't start charing til 2018 when I was a private and part of a tutoring job on campus at college. Currently a 2nd year math teacher.
I love helping students in small groups or one on one. Its exciting to see what piece of the puzzle each student is missing because each student has different needs.
Studied math education for my undergrad. Currently a math teacher and have been tutoring private and volunteer since high school

I usually ask how they are doing and just take some time to check in with the student. Often, struggles in the personal life effect the student in their learning and memory. Next, ask what the student has questions on. Then, see them try and work the problem. Have them work out loud or see their work. Then ask questions about why they did something and maybe suggest a different path or ask a wondering question. Have them try some more problems, progressively getting harder. Eventually lead to them teaching me.
