About Rubi

Hello students and family!

My name is Rubi Tapia and I am looking to tutor students interested in learning the ways of math. As a new graduate student, I have taken and passed all required math courses for my bachelor’s degrees in biomedical engineering. I have taken the following courses at the college level: college level algebra, single variable calculus, multi variable calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations.

I also have prior experience working as an outreach director for grade levels 9-12 for the Society of Hispanic Professionals Engineers. During my work, I organized learning material and led workshops that taught basic physics and electronics concepts to students. Additionally, I worked as a summer camp counselor for 3 summers where I learned how to assist high school students with the college application process.

During our first session, I will provide a questionnaire to measure your confidence with the math concept(s) you are currently struggling with as well as provide a quiz that I will use to measure your current performance level. Using this information, I will craft a tutoring program that will aim to meet specific milestones that will allow you to increase your confidence and performance with the academic material.
