About Spencer

I am an online math tutor who is knowledgeable, personal, and professional. I am currently a student teacher and substitute teacher for mathematics at Clovis High School. I do math tutoring on the side to help students in need.

I love seeing the lightbulb come on when a student finally gets something. When they don't just understand how to do something but why it works and why it is important. I greatly enjoy helping people and getting to make a difference in their lives.

I started by substitute teaching about a year and a half ago. I decided to take the math CSETS (California Subject Examination for Teachers) and started a credential program at FPU. I have passed the CSETS necessary to teach high school level Math I, Math II, Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics. I have also been student teaching full time throughout the past school year.

Starting with the basics. I determine what the student knows and what they don't know. I used what they already knows and build from there. I believe any student can become proficient in math when given the tools and when they have the determination to do so.
