About Joseph

I know what it feels like to need a math tutor because I needed a lot of help and tutoring my first years of college. Eventually I became very good at math and earned A's in college algebra, trigonometry, calculus and other math classes.

I have a unique ability to relate to students in need of a math tutor because I was a student in need of a math tutor. I understand what it's like to need and recieve help and my experience as a student in need of a tutor has helped me become the best tutor for my students.

I have been a tutor for five years.

I spent a lot of time in the tutors office because i needed a lot of help with math early in my college courses. Once I started getting A's in math classes, I decided to go back and help others achieve the same.

I have a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and i have been working full-time as an engineer for the past 10 years. While in college, I was a tutor at Chipewa Valley technical College and Milwaukee Area technical College.

I get to know the student and his or her background and experience so that I can explain and teach math in a way that the student can relate to.

I listen to the student and look at the situation from the students perspective.

I ask questions to findout the students skill level and understanding.

I study the chapter/lessons in advance and prepare a plan for breaking the problems down and teaching the student.

I find easier problems for the student to solve and build their skills and confidence to be able to to handle bigger problems.

I listen and take notes to identify the key gaps in the students knowledge and skills and i help the student fill in the gaps.

I help the student develop a step- by-step process for solving problems.

My goal is to ultimately help the student master the processes

All ages and types. But mostly college and highschool.

Look for a teacher that is compashionate and determined to help you suceed.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Is this teacher doing it for the money or is the teacher actually interested in helping me?

What experience does the teacher have?

Why is the teacher willing to help me?

How many students has the teacher sucessfully helped acieve better grades.
