About Drew
Hello! I am Drew, an engineering student with a passion for math. Like many students, I struggled in high school math and just thought I was one of those people who was "never good at it". When I decided I wanted to pursue engineering though, I knew I had some heavy math ahead. I started to see math not just as a subject to memorize, but as a tool to solve real-world problems. With some patience and practice, I found I actually truly enjoy math and problem solving. I went from barely passing geometry to acing calculus exams with time to spare.
I enjoy helping others build that same confidence. I know how frustrating math can be, especially at the foundational levels, and I hope my own experience can help to make it more approachable and engaging. It helped me to break down the concepts beyond just memorizing formulas. Understanding why the math works the way it does allows you to think critically and figure out approaches to problems instead of just hoping you remember a specific set of steps. It can start to feel more like solving a fun puzzle than grinding out numbers. I hope to work with you to break down concepts in ways that makes sense and are easy to understand. And if you still don't find some fun in it, at least it can still make sense to you.
Whether your goal is to truly understand these subjects as you progress through a math heavy career, or just to make it through a semester, let's help you do it.
I am most comfortable tutoring high school level math, and some early college, including pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, and trigonometry.
