About Khalil
The aim of Fostering Futures is just that, to foster future generations to build upon the foundation we’ve already laid. As we accelerate through this technological age, it’s essential not to lose the foundational skills that allowed for its inception. Fostering Futures is here to create a friendly educational environment to support and encourage our posterity to stand on our shoulders in innovation.
As a college student at UCLA pursuing a degree in Neuroscience, I’m actively learning how essential it is to develop these skills at a young age while the brain has a greater plasticity and is more receptive to learning and mastering new information.
As a high school student I founded an after school program, Homework Hangout, which created a space for students to learn and work together outside of the traditional classroom setting. Watching it grow so naturally and persist after leaving my alma mater inspired me to continue to foster learning for the youth as well.
I hope to positively impact the future by having a positive impact on today’s youth who are currently bombarded with distractions that take their attention away from learning. The goal is to encourage students to be excited to learn and find gratification in their own progress. I am flexible and adaptable to both parent and student needs and feedback.
