About Maria

My name is Maria Thomas and I have been teaching and tutoring Math for 7 years. I have a degree in Mathematics and and I have successfully tutored 200+ students in various Math subjects. My goal is to make Math as simple as possible so that it is not so scary and maybe even fun!

I love seeing a student’s confidence grow as they apply what they learn with ease and see their scores improve.

I began studying Math in 2010 and Education in 2013. I regularly volunteered in public school classrooms, both regular Ed and Special Ed. Starting in 2013, I also worked as a tutor and mentor for at-risk high school students in 5 high schools in the Alpine School District in Utah.

Regular Education students and students with special needs. I have taught and tutored students of all ages.

A student that I tutored for 2 years in high school recently graduated with her college degree in biology. She struggled very much with Math, but I found ways to make Math as simple as possible for her to help her see that Math was not so scary. Her confidence grew over time and I am so proud that she pursued her dreams!
