About Deborah

I have a passion for teaching and inspiring student who lack confidence in reading and math. My goal is to help students eventually become more independent learners by gaining confidence in their ability to not only work all types of problems, but understand they apply to real world scenarios. I work with students who have learning differences such as ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalcula, etc. I have a Bachelors in Architecture and have worked with students at a local college preparatory school. I also have tutored dyslexic students the "Barton Reading and Spelling Shift" which is an Orton Gillingham based program. I have the ability to teach this online as well using Zoom and Whizzimo. I have raised three children who each had a different learning style. One had difficult with auditory processing, one with visual processing, and two of them also had ADHD and dylexia.

I like to get background information on each student.  These include previous tests, quizzes, grades, and learning style.  We have a couple of sessions and then decide if we are a good match.  I have had training through the learning center at a local preparatory school and have a degree in architecture.
