About Victoria

SJV Tutoring provides one-to-one tutoring in the subject areas of Reading, Language Arts, Mathematics, and Homework/Test Preparation by certificated teachers and tutors. We focus on one subject per a 6-week program. Also, we provide a subject pre/post test, relevant study review and extension activities to check for your child's overall learning. Above all, we encourage fun through learning and strive for a 3 - 6 month academic growth at the end of the program.

I enjoy helping students brush up on whatever concept they would like to cover. I also appreciate the determination in students to learn a stickler concept and apply that learning to new situations. Lastly, I encourage students to learn all they can and it shows in their work and self-esteem to achieve higher and farther.

I began as a Kindergarten teacher 30 years ago. My years in education include Substitute teaching, tutoring (Grades K, 1-12), and Adult School Education.

About the lesson

First, ask the student what he/she would like to achieve from tutoring then pre-test to pinpoint the student's level and ability in the content area.

I have worked with Regular education Elementary, Secondary, Adult levels. Also, I have Special Education teaching experience.

To assure the teacher he or she hires cares tremendously about the teaching field, is motivated to tach as well as learn, and is knowledgeable about the subject and core curriculum in which is taught.

I helped a Kindergarten student review his knowledge of the alphabet and sight words.
