About Tanya

Hi! My name is Tanya Sun and I am an honors student at West Valley College, studying Geophysics and Pure Mathematics. I’ve worked as a teacher for middle school science at a summer teaching fellowship at Breakthrough Collaborative and Generation Teach, and tutored for the past 5 years. Some relevant coursework I’ve taught before include:

Pre-algebra, multiplication, algebra, geometry, precalculus, chemistry, and physics.

I am familiar with teaching grade levels from kindergarten to college. If any of that sounds interesting to you, shoot me an email at (concealed information)

I began teaching in high school, and I acted as a volunteer in numerous nonprofits. From there, I’ve worked some part time tutoring jobs and never stopped since!

I have an elementary teaching certificate from West Valley College, and I have been trained by various educational nonprofits such as Boys and Girls Club, Breakthrough Collaborative, Learn to Be, and UPchieve. Some relevant coursework I’ve taken before:

Calculus (up to 3)

Physics 1

Ecological Biology

Statistics 1

I work with others to analyze their learning style and adjust my plans to match their skill level. I then pinpoint the difficulties they face and help them resolve their challenges.

Elementary, middle, high school, college, and working math.

Look for a teacher who suits your learning style and cares about helping you advance your education.

We made mento-Pepsi rockets in the class I taught :)
