I was Mitchel's first assistant for three years and learned most of what I know about photography from him. He taught me how to see light, to recognize different qualities of light and how to use strobe light in the studio and on location. Mitchel taught me how to light for beauty, portraits and body. He is an excellent photographer and teacher. I highly recommend this class to anyone interested in learning photography at a high level.

When I started I was completely lost in the studio environment. What I've learned through Mitchel, besides the studio basics, is that shooting can still be playful and fun. The most valuable thing I've learned through Mitchel is how he approaches his subjects, who don't spend a lot of time in front of the camera. He encourages his subjects to do what comes naturally to them, bringing authenticity to the images. Overall, Mitchel has been a patient and receptive teacher.
