About Violet

Hello! My name is Violet Mandic and I am a classical soprano. I have many years of teaching private voice and piano lessons. I specialize in teaching preschool and kindergarten children. I have taught students who have been accepted into the Lehigh Valley Performing Arts Charter School and who have competed in the Performing Arts Alliance Voice Competition. I graduated from Moravian College with a Bachelors Degree of Music in Voice Performance. I have won many awards over the years including, but not limited to the following: Delta Omicron Music Honors Society, Charlotte E Newcombe Scholarship, Louise Moore Pine Music Scholarship, and the International Dean’s List Honor Society. I am a vocal health advocate, and I write articles about the healing power of music, and vocal health on my Facebook page at Healing Music Notes.

I have fun creating music with all of my students. I enjoy helping my students to become better singers/pianists, and performers. I also enjoy sharing my passion for music with my students.

I got started in teaching through taking a class in voice pedagogy at Moravian College. I have also many years of experience teaching music to children in Sunday School. I also took a class in Music for Early Childhood Education. I currently teach in my private home studio, and at Miss Cindy's School of Dance.

I am a classical soprano and pianist. I have been trained in teaching voice, and vocal health. I have many years of experience in musical theater, acting, and classical singing and piano, as well as music therapy training. I am able to teach students to accompany themselves on the piano while singing. I also teach musicianship and music theory lessons. I also offer audition preparation lessons.

I offer all my students a well rounded education that includes the following: basic ear training, basic music theory, sight- singing, and sight- reading, vocal health, proper voice and piano techniques, audition and performance techniques, and self-accompaniment for piano students. I teach all ear training, and music theory, and music history as a game, or as a fun activity. I also use visual and video illustrations in my lessons to demonstrate certain concepts. My goal is to make the lessons fun and informative as I help you reach your goals.

I have worked mostly with beginners, and intermediate level students. Most of my students mainly study musical theater and classical repertoire, and performance and audition techniques.

A student should always look for a teacher who has a degree in music, because there are many teachers out there that are self-taught, and don't fully know how to read music, and how to sing properly, as well as voice anatomy and physiology. You also want to find a teacher who is friendly, encouraging, knowledgeable, and who makes lessons fun and engaging!!

I took a Workshop in Yoga for Singers. I believe that yoga is very helpful singers, because it helps singers to breath properly, and prepare the body for singing. It also helps singers to connect how you produce sound in your body, and the singing/feeling connection. I believe that as a singer, your whole body is the instrument, therefore it is important to treat your whole body as the valuable instrument that it is.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
You always want to let teachers know your goals, and why you desire to take lessons. Don't ever be afraid to ask questions. We learn by asking questions. Also, always let your teacher know about your experience, and give them your personal feedback on each lesson.
