About Charlene SY
Hello, my name is Charlene. I have been teaching piano, music theory and ear training for over 25 years. I am friendly and professional. I have a bachelor degree in Music from Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York and a Master of Art degree in music from UCLA. I am also a Certificate of Merit (CM) piano evaluator of MTAC ( Music Teachers' Association of California) and a member of MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) . My students perform twice a year in recitals. Students also have the opportunity to take the CM evaluation, perform in branch honors recitals and music convention. I enjoy teaching and my joyous moments come from seeing students achieving their music goals and have fun in the process.
I would like to awe your child's mind with memorable piano lesoons.
I enjoy listening to each child's story, What does he/she likes and how can I tailored my lesson plan to blossom his/her learning curiosity.
My goal at each lesson is to see my student walk out with a confident smile!
My mother was a teacher and she inspired me to be one.

Charlene was my outstanding piano teacher for ten years. She is a kind, consistent, encouraging, and very knowledgeable instructor. She guided and motivated me through each level of the MTAC's Certificate of Merit program for piano and I could not have done any of it without her teaching. She inspired me as well as gave me the tools to teach music myself!
