About Whitney

I graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I am currently a childcare director in Clinton Township, MI. I have small group experience and love working with students. I use workbooks, websites, and hands on games to achieve academic proficiency. I not only work with the student but work with the family to give them ideas to help their child reach their goals.

I enjoy seeing that light bulb that goes off when a student understands something that they didn't before. And the pride that a student feels when they understood something new as well!

I have always from an early age loved working with children. I have many family members in the education field. I always wanted to help my mom in Sunday School rather than going to my own classes. Then in High School I was allowed to teach a young 3's Sunday School class at my Church and knew then that this was what I wanted to do.

I graduated from Wetern Michigan University with a degree in Early Childhood Education with minors in Language Arts and Science. I worked at Gilden Woods Early Care and Preschool. I also interned at another Early Care facility. I pre student taught in a 2nd grade classroom in Portage Mi. I student taught in Kindergarten at a Kentwood Elementary School. My first year teaching in Saginaw was in Kindergarten and my second year was in Second Grade. I have currently moved down to First Grade!

About the lesson

The first time meeting a new student I like to get to know the student. I also access where the studnet is at academically. I talk with the parent(s) as well and take any feedback provided from teachers as well.

I have worked with all types of students with all types of different backgrounds.
