About

My name is Tristen Garrison. I am a Bible College Student in Murfreesboro, TN with a current gpa of 3.8. I was privately educated in Michigan and graduated top of my class in 2022. I have always been academically inclined and have had many opportunities tutoring peers and those lower than me academically. I have been told I am quite good at it and hope to use these skills to help others. I am adept at all of the main academic skills (reading, writing, and arithmetic), but my main passion lies in History. My nicknames over the years have been "the grammar nazi", "history buff", and "smarta**". Hopefully this gives you an idea of my academic history and qualifications. About the lesson

I teach with a method called "idea association". Studies show that it is much easier to learn "ideas" than it is to learn a bunch of facts in sequence. In my approach, I take the facts and associate them with easier to learn ideas. Through these ideas students will learn to place facts in the correct department in their memory and will remember them much better. Learning these ideas will also help them understand the "why" of the subject and not just the "what". This will lead to a fuller and longer lasting understanding of the subject. At the current moment, I am best suited to help high school students and lower level college students. With my pursuit of higher education I hope to expand my qualifications and client pool over time. Thank you for your consideration
