Ask his or her expectations, doing my best to make the student as comfortable as possible and figure out the best way to help right away.

I had the pleasure to work with all kind of level and every age category you can think off .

Talk to him or her, verbal communication is very important.  Ask to be able to witness a lesson and see for yourself if it will be a good fit

Everyone look good on paper but not everyone is capable of coaching.

Having 6 of my players receiving scholarships to play college tennis.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Ask yourself why are you taking tennis lessons and tell the coach your expectations.
