About Nick
I'm a radio producer, reporter, and educator based in Tulsa, OK. I received my Ph.D. in History from George Washington University in 2016, and my B.A. in Literature from Yale University in 2008. Over the past decade, I have published dozens of articles on politics and current affairs in a range of online and print publications; helped curate two major museum exhibitions in Tulsa; written a three-hour NPR documentary on the legacy of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre; and contributed history lesson plans to a curriculum based on an Oklahoma hip-hop record. I love writing, and I love helping students develop their written expression and argumentative skills. I've also taught history and literature at the high school and college levels. I'm eager to work with students aged 13 and up—whether independently, or in small groups—on any of the above subjects.

My teaching approach is creative and, to the greatest extent possible, tailored to each individual student. Are you the type of person who struggles with writing, but also can't stand to read? No problem! Let's break down an episode of "The Office" or "Better Call Saul," or the lyrics to your favorite song. There's great writing everywhere, and studying it carefully will help your writing improve.
