About Josh

I am a highly experienced Year 6 teacher who has taught across all of Key Stage 2. With over ten years in the classroom, I know the KS2 curriculum inside out and understand exactly what children need to make progress, build confidence, and enjoy learning. As an English Lead, PE Coordinator and School Digital Leader, I bring a broad skill set, a creative approach, and a strong understanding of how to engage and support learners of all abilities. I pride myself on being patient, approachable, and committed to helping every child succeed. My lessons are tailored to each individual student, with clear explanations, supportive guidance, and activities that match their interests. I firmly believe that children learn best when they feel confident, understood, and motivated — and I work hard to create that environment in every session. Outside of teaching, I’m passionate about sport (especially rugby), camping, and reading — and I often use children’s hobbies and interests to make learning more relatable and enjoyable. About the lesson

My Approach to Tutoring and How I Teach My Classes I am an experienced Year 6 teacher with extensive experience across all Key Stage 2 year groups. I know the KS2 curriculum inside out and have a track record of helping children build confidence and achieve their full potential. Currently, I am the English lead, PE coordinator, and school digital leader, which allows me to bring a creative and well-rounded approach to lessons. Techniques and Teaching Methodology: I tailor each lesson to the individual child, making learning engaging and relevant to their interests. I use a variety of teaching techniques including visual aids, interactive activities, games, and discussion to help children understand concepts in a way that makes sense to them. I focus on building confidence, encouraging curiosity, and creating a positive, supportive learning environment. Typical Length of a Lesson: I usually offer lessons lasting one hour, but I can be flexible depending on the child’s needs and attention span. I structure lessons to include a mix of explanation, practice, and interactive activity, ensuring learning is both effective and enjoyable. Qualifications and Experience: Qualified primary school teacher with over 10 years’ experience across KS2. English lead and experienced in delivering high-quality literacy lessons. PE coordinator, bringing enthusiasm and energy to lessons and making connections between learning and children’s interests. Experienced in using digital tools to enhance learning and engagement. Who the Lessons Are For: I work with children across KS2, tailoring lessons to meet individual needs and abilities.
