About Samira
With over a decade of experience in teaching Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, and solving math problems with coding, I am dedicated to helping students excel at every level, from elementary school to graduate studies. I hold a Ph.D. in Computational Science & Engineering, along with a Master’s degree in Computer Science. My extensive background in academia, combined with my practical experience, allows me to deliver clear, structured lessons tailored to each student’s unique learning style.
During my time with the Young Women in Computing (YWiC) program, I created engaging and interactive programming curricula, teaching languages like Java, JavaScript, HTML, and Linux to students of various ages. I bring this same passion and expertise into my tutoring sessions, ensuring that every student feels supported and confident in their learning journey.

As a tutor, I focus on tailoring lessons to the individual needs and learning styles of each student. My approach is highly interactive and student-driven, ensuring that lessons are engaging and relevant to real-world applications. I emphasize hands-on, project-based learning to reinforce key concepts, whether we’re tackling complex algorithms or debugging code in a programming language.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of prior knowledge before diving into the day’s topic. I break down difficult concepts into smaller, manageable parts, often using visual aids, coding demonstrations, and real-world examples to solidify understanding. Throughout the lesson, I pause to check for comprehension and encourage questions, fostering a collaborative environment.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my depth of expertise, having earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science Engineering, and over 10 years of experience teaching a variety of subjects, including Mathematics and coding, Machine Learning and AI. I have taught students at all levels—from beginners to advanced learners—through personalized one-on-one tutoring, classroom instruction. Additionally, I was part of the Young Women in Computing (YWiC) program at New Mexico State University, where I developed interactive curricula and taught programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, HTML, Linux, Scratch, and EV3 to elementary, middle, and high school students.
