About Leah
I’m a final year student in English and history and I always get such a buzz when I get to share my love for these subjects with others! I’ve always found tutoring to be such a rewarding experience, especially in this online one-to-one format. I am the Chairperson of the UCC Dramatic Society and we won a national award last year for our work in accessibility in theatre. I am very passionate about accessibility in education and having the understanding that not all students learn the same. With this format, I am able to ensure every student I work with has access to the materials they need. It also allows me to adjust my teaching style to best suit the individual. This creates a very rewarding experience for me as I get to help students who don’t fit the “one size fits all” approach to learning, I for one did not!

I personally enjoy a more laid back approach to teaching. Students experience enough stress in a school environment and they’re already giving up their free time to get grinds. If you want to come to our lessons in your pjs thats great! You want to bring a snack? I will too! All that matters is that you’re showing up.
With a one to one approach I am able to customise each lesson to what you need. If that is help with homework or you’re working towards an exam, we will be able to focus on whatever it is you need.
Furthermore with the online classes we are able to be much more flexible with what times suit you week to week. This makes getting grinds much more accessible to everyone especially those who live in rural areas.
I will be able to implement my own experiences with English literature and language alongside skills I’ve developed in University. Making me both very relatable for students but also knowledgeable.

I have been friends with Leah since the start of last academic year, and she has proved to be one of the friendliest people in UCC in that time. Not only is she very easy to get along with, she helped me with all my history work, staying up to date on assignments and making sure i knew my timetable. Leah is always on top of things, and she's an incredible history student to boot. Any students next year would be lucky to have her as a Tutor.
Would not have passed leaving cert history without her help, incredible essay skills and a passion for the subject makes for incredible and helpful insight.
