About Ruby

Having completed my GCSEs and A-Levels relatively recently, I understand first-hand the challenges students face. English Literature can feel overwhelming, with the pressure to analyse texts, remember key quotations, and write detailed essays under exam conditions. I know how difficult it can seem at first, but I also know that with the right guidance, it becomes much more manageable.

I want to use my own experience to help students build confidence and develop the skills needed to succeed. Rather than simply memorising quotes or model answers, I focus on helping students understand the texts, structure high-scoring essays, and communicate their ideas clearly and effectively.
Every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to suit individual strengths and areas for improvement. Whether you're looking to boost your confidence, improve your essay writing, or achieve the highest grades, I'll provide patient, supportive, and encouraging tuition to help you reach your goals.

My aim is to make English Literature more enjoyable, less intimidating, and to give students the confidence to walk into their exams knowing they're fully prepared.

About the lesson

Every student learns differently, which is why my lessons are completely tailored to the individual. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, I begin by understanding where you are currently, what grades you're aiming for, and which topics or exam skills you find most challenging. Together, we'll create a personalised action plan that focuses on the areas that will have the biggest impact on your progress.

My lessons are designed to build both knowledge and confidence. We'll break down complex business concepts into simple, easy-to-understand explanations before applying them to exam-style questions. A strong emphasis is placed on exam technique, as knowing the content is only part of achieving top grades. I'll help you develop the analytical and evaluation skills needed to write high-quality answers that meet the mark scheme, while also sharing revision strategies that make studying more effective.

I encourage students to ask questions throughout our sessions and aim to create a relaxed, supportive environment where they feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. Regular feedback allows us to track progress and adapt our approach as your confidence and understanding develop.
