About Katie
Hello! I am a professional theatre-maker with experience in acting, writing, directing and producing.
I have been working in theatre for nearly 2 years, and graduated from the University of Birmingham with a First Class Degree in Drama and Theatre Arts in 2018. During my degree, I focused on how to adapt classical texts (including Shakespeare), monologue acting (crucial for Drama School applications), and performing comedy.
I also obtained an A* at A Level in Performing Arts, again specialising in performing Shakespeare and acting. I also have an A* GCSE Drama.

I would be a great fit for someone studying Drama and/or Performing Arts at GCSE or A Level, specifically helping with your written work. I could also be a great help to you if you are thinking of applying to a Drama course at University, and need help with either your audition or personal statement - I applied for Drama School and Drama at university so am very experienced in applications!
My lesson structures are be a combination of responding to your needs as a student/ applicant, as well as breaking down exactly what you're being asked to do. For example, we would work through the marking criteria together and understand what that means both for you in your writing, but also thinking how this might be useful in your practical work.
For Drama School applicants, I spend a lot of time helping you find the perfect audition pieces - this choice is crucial! We could work through your choices and I'd be able to direct you to make the most of your 2 minutes in front of the panel. Likewise with your personal statement, I'd focus on helping you make it sound like YOU! I have a lot of experience in helping applicants craft the perfect personal statement which shows their personality, as well as dedicated to the course.
I'm friendly, approachable and a kind teacher! Drama and theatre are my passions, and I'd love to help you along your journey!
