About Jude
I’m a First-Class Mechanical Engineering graduate from Newcastle University, where I finished 5th in my year, and I now work as a consultant at a leading global engineering firm. I’ve been tutoring maths, physics and chemistry for the past four years, helping students of all abilities grow in confidence and improve their grades. I enjoy teaching because I know how stressful exams can feel, and I’ve seen how much difference the right explanation and a bit of encouragement can make. My goal is to make tricky topics feel manageable, show clear methods that actually stick, and create a calm, supportive environment where it’s okay to make mistakes and learn from them. I treat tutoring as professionally as my day job: I prepare thoroughly for each lesson, tailor my approach to each student, and always focus on building understanding as well as results.

I like to keep my lessons structured but friendly and low-pressure. I start by finding out what the student already understands and where the gaps or worries are. From there, I break topics down into clear steps, use lots of worked examples, and then get students to try questions themselves so they can build confidence quickly. I focus heavily on exam-style questions, past papers, and simple methods for showing working clearly to gain marks. A typical lesson is 60 minutes. For some students (especially before exams or mocks), I also offer 90-minute sessions to combine teaching new content with a focused exam-style question session. I have a First-Class degree in Mechanical Engineering from Newcastle University (5th in my cohort) and work at a top engineering consultancy, so I use real-world examples to make maths and science more intuitive and less abstract. I’ve been tutoring for 4 years, supporting students with a wide range of abilities. My lessons are mainly for GCSE students (Years 9–11) in maths, physics, and chemistry, but I’m also happy to help confident younger students who want to get ahead or older students who need to revisit GCSE content.
