About Liyah
I’m currently a first-year university student studying Primary and Early Years Education. I have a passion for teaching and learning which I hope to provide for other students.
I thoroughly enjoyed English as a subject, and I intend to gain a specialism in English education through a masters once I have completed my undergraduate course.
At A-Level, I achieved an A* in my English non-exam assessment, as well as an A in my Extended Qualification Project. Across my studies in BTEC Level 3 Psychology, I received a Distinction with top marks in my essay-based coursework.
My GCSE qualifications reflect similarly, where I achieved a grade 8 in English Literature and a grade 6 in English Language.

As a private tutor, I hope to support children’s learning in English through my own experiences.
My strongest subject has always been English, and having studied it up to A Level I have an awareness of effective study methods, which helped me score highly in my academic essays.
For GCSE and A-Level, A particularly strong method of studying I have found is past paper repetition. As part of the tutoring, I will work through mock papers with learners and provide advice and support based on responses! I’ll work through areas of weaknesses to help learners feel confident in their examinations.
To precede this method of learning, lessons will be structured based upon learners abilities and level of understanding, beginning with discussions and explorations of the learner’s English modules. I will always consider my learner’s thoughts and aims for their tutoring when putting together lessons.
