About the lesson

English is not the spoken language in most Indian households. Hence vocabulary of English words is only introduced to most children when they start school. Yet again, English is a language which has 26 alphabets out of which 42 phonic sounds are formed through different permutation and combination of the alphabets which needs guidance of specialized teachers. To make things more difficult for the child, there are certain words in English which do not follow the general norm of word formation and pronunciation. For example, DO, TO have similar spellings yet different pronunciation from GO, SO, NO. Again, MOON has a different pronunciation than DOOR even though both have “oo” in between. There are many more such instances which makes learning English at school via the traditional method confusing and bewildering to the child.
During my sessions with kids, I find the interest in young/new mothers to learn Phonics themselves so that they can coach their school-going kids better at home or create the foundation of the language at home before their kids start school. They also feel it would help in their own self-development by learning the correct formation and pronunciation of words.
Hence, my class is meant for such mothers or women who want to be a step ahead in their Kid’s education or in their own self-development. It is an interactive one-o-one session which has been designed to coach parents on how to teach their children in a fun, creative and a very unobtrusive manner.
This course is suitable for Indian mothers/women who would like to
(1) initiate and guide their little ones (age 3 onwards) towards the correct methodology of learning English Language through sounds before their school life starts
(2) provide additional guidance to their older children (class 1 and above) who are unable to follow the word formations as taught by their schools
(3) self-develop by improving upon their own understanding of the sounds associated with individual
alphabets as well as from the different permutation and combination of alphabets

The duration of the course would be 6 hours, 1 hour per session, at a flexible timing of mutual convenience.
The training material and aids will be emailed before each class. Participants will be taught how to use the training aids to impart training to their children or use it for their own self-development.
Charges will be informed to interested parties.
