One bite at a time!

Learning can feel like a big adventure, but every challenge becomes easier when we take it step by step. As a Middle School English Teacher with a Master's degree in education and IB/MYP teaching experience, I help build confidence in reading, writing, and critical thinking through engaging, personalized lessons. Together, we'll tackle tough skills, celebrate small victories, and turn "I can't" into "I can". My goal is to make learning feel exciting, achievable, and fun, one bite at a time.

About the lesson

As a Middle School English Teacher with a Master's degree in education and experience teaching IB/MYP English Language Arts, I take a hands-on, student-centered approach to learning. I believe every student can become a stronger reader and writer when instruction is personalized to their unique learning style, strengths, and goals.

My teaching approach combines direct instruction, guided practice, discussion-based learning, and real-world application. I use Common Core ELA standards and research-based literacy strategies to help students develop skills in reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, writing structure, critical thinking, and analysis.

A typical lesson begins with identifying the student's current skills and goals, followed by a focused mini-lesson introducing a new concept or strategy. Students then practice the skill through guided activities, reading passages, writing exercises, or discussions. Each lesson ends with reflection and feedback so students understand their progress and know what skill to continue developing.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my experience as a classroom educator. I understand that academic challenges are often not just about the subject. They are about confidence, motivation, and identifying the right learning approach. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing as learners.

My goal is to help students become confident communicators who can think critically, express their ideas clearly, and develop skills that support success beyond the classroom.
