About Brian
I am a semi-retired professor, photographer, writer and artist. I have an extensive list of publications in peer-reviewed journals, as well as mainstream magazines such as Allure and Glamour. I have degrees or college-level training in the medical sciences and in many areas of psychology and performance. I have tutored just about every course with the exceptions of foreign language. A glaring weakness. I've been successful with students of all ages and abilities, from middle school remedial reading/writing and special education students, through graduate-level multivariate analysis of variance classes wherein one of my students was a 65-year-old Catholic nun. I've been able to connect with students from a wide range of backgrounds.

I have published papers on my teaching methods in peer-reviewed journals. And have given workshops teaching professors how to employ my "Pod System" of active learning and creating independent interdependence among my students. I act as much as a facilitator as I do giving information. The idea is to get the student thinking critically and asking the next level question and then properly questioning the answer. It's much simpler than it likely sounds, but once you teach the students "how" to think, they can apply those skills regardless of what they are learning. My job is to facilitate critical thinking processes more so than providing information in a specific area.

Perfect! Brian patiently helped my son with an online Algebra class over the summer. I highly recommend Brian.
