About Victoria
I am a compilation of the humanities! Outside of teaching, I am a creative writer and multimedia artist. I see art and meaning in the world around me and love to zoom into details other people may have missed. I was always an avid reader and my brain has a City Hall library worth of content to teach on.
If you want to truly challenge your brain and the way you see the English language and the world as a whole, my class is the place for you.
If I may brag, my students consistently report that my class is their favorite and my lessons are both fun and effective. Most students receive perfect attendance, I am told because they look forward to my class each day! Getting to know my students and watching them improve is the best part of my job.

My teaching style is very focused on analyzing real world examples to understand rhetoric and composition as it is used in life, and even in specific careers.
English is not taught or learned in a vacuum, and this approach helps ground complex or abstract terms and simultaneously developing strong writing and rhetorical skills.
I am a young person with a fun and easy-going attitude that makes students comfortable articulating questions and concerns. My lessons often involve researching topics that students pick themselves or recent events, as well as a small writing exercise.
My lessons would of course benefit young adults/ college students, but I think that my focus on analysis would benefit high school english students, or people gunning for a higher ACT/SAT score.
Learning to analyze texts/examples with precision from multiple points of view can aid critical thinking, and composition instruction can help students point out about parts of speech, audience, thesis, even line by line organization.
