About Adeline

Hi! My name is Adeline, and I am a fourth-year Psychology major with a Neuroscience minor at Miami University. Throughout my academic career, I have developed strong reading, writing, communication, and critical thinking skills that I now enjoy helping other students build with confidence.

One thing that makes me a strong tutor is that I understand firsthand that learning does not look the same for everyone. It took me time to figure out which study methods, organization techniques, and learning strategies worked best for me, especially when balancing challenging college courses and a busy schedule. Because of that experience, I am able to help students find approaches that fit their individual learning styles rather than using a one-size-fits-all method.

I have experience working with students in supportive academic settings and strive to create a comfortable, encouraging environment where students feel confident asking questions and improving at their own pace. I am patient, organized, and committed to helping students not only succeed academically, but also feel more confident in their abilities.

As someone who has completed many college-level writing and research assignments across psychology, science, and humanities courses, I can help students with essay writing, grammar, reading comprehension, organization, proofreading, and study skills. I especially enjoy helping students break down assignments into manageable steps and making difficult concepts feel less overwhelming.

I believe learning should feel collaborative and supportive, and I strive to make every lesson productive, engaging, and personalized to each student’s goals.

As a tutor, my goal is to help students become more confident and comfortable with English reading and writing rather than just memorizing rules. I focus on creating a supportive, personalized environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, practice skills, and improve at their own pace. As a fourth-year Psychology major at Miami University, I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to fit each individual’s needs and goals.

My teaching approach combines clear explanations, guided practice, and positive feedback. I help students strengthen skills such as essay writing, grammar, reading comprehension, organization, analysis, and editing. I also focus on building strong study habits and critical thinking skills that students can use both inside and outside the classroom.

A typical lesson is interactive and tailored to the student. We may review class assignments, work through essays step-by-step, practice reading comprehension strategies, prepare for exams, or improve writing structure and clarity. I like to break difficult concepts into simpler, manageable steps so students feel less overwhelmed and more confident in their abilities.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my patience, communication skills, and ability to connect with students in a supportive and encouraging way. I understand how stressful school can feel, especially when students lose confidence in their academic abilities, and I strive to make learning approachable and motivating.

My lessons are designed for middle school, high school, and college students who want support in English, writing, reading comprehension, essay organization, proofreading, study skills, and general academic confidence.
