About Lynn
I am a single-income parent who raised four kids while homeschooling...way before it was the "thing to do." Medical issues necessitated that I be available 24/7 and that my children had a flexible attendance policy. That said, one of my four struggled with the written word. I had to find unique and descriptive ways to help her. During this time frame, other parents around me started expressing that public school was letting their kids slide. They weren't able to read or stay on task. It was a struggle to get them to do homework (again, this came from a lack of comprehension when reading). Simple breakdowns and rhythmic patterns were difficult for them to process, so I would sit down and go back to basics to help them. From there, I continued working as a transcriber and then later a paralegal in order to continue to support my family, and it makes sense to take what I love to do and turn it into a way to help myself and help others.

Starting at an early age, I've always been able to read and read well. As early as third grade, I took speed reading and read at a college level. Many people, of all ages, struggle with simple sentences, concepts, and picking up context clues; I have had experience helping individuals work through these issues. As well, the satisfaction of seeing one no longer struggle is amazing! Whether you're trying to improve your skills to get that new job, or learn the language to attain citizenship, come speak with me. We'll set your course at your own pace.
