As a tutor, my approach varies based on the subject but always focuses on building a strong foundation. Whether it’s grammar, spelling, essay writing, or creative writing, I start every session with a writing prompt to engage the student and get them thinking. From there, I review any previous material, ensuring mastery before introducing new concepts. This helps students feel confident as they build on what they already know.
Typical Lesson Plan
Writing Prompt – Each session begins with a prompt to spark creativity and focus the lesson.
Review of Previous Material – We go over past lessons to solidify understanding and address any lingering questions.
Mastery of Core Concepts – I guide the student in mastering key concepts, providing explanations and examples tailored to their learning style.
Introducing New Concepts – Once the student has grasped the previous material, I introduce new topics, always breaking them down into manageable steps.
Application & Practice – Students apply their knowledge through exercises, and I provide feedback to ensure they’re on the right track.
Summary & Next Steps – At the end of each session, we recap the lesson and set clear goals for the next one.
