About Kirsty

I learnt knitting from my mother and, in recent years, have pursued it seriously as a hobby. I enjoy creating handmade items for friends and loved ones, and I also take commissions. I am a creative at heart and love hands-on work, which complements my professional life in PR and Communications. I tutor because I love sharing my skills and mentoring others, helping them develop practical techniques, confidence, and a passion for crafting. My approach is patient, results-oriented, and tailored to each student’s individual goals.

About the lesson

My knitting lessons are tailored to each student’s level and goals, whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your techniques. I focus on hands-on learning, guiding you through stitches, patterns, and projects in a clear, step-by-step way. Lessons are practical and creative — from scarves, hats, and homeware to unique personal gifts — so you can see real results while enjoying the process. I provide tips, feedback, and strategies to help you progress confidently, whether you want to knit for yourself, friends, family, or even take on commissions. I aim to make lessons enjoyable, structured, and rewarding, helping students develop skills they can apply independently while nurturing creativity and confidence.

Kirsty's response
Nora was brilliant, and had so many ideas on what she wanted to achieve and clear on what she needed help on. I could quickly adjust to how she needed to be guided, so we had a great first session!

Kirsty always takes the time to explain everything in detail during her online tutoring sessions. She is incredibly patient and caring, creating a supportive and relaxed environment that makes learning feel approachable rather than overwhelming. She allows you to learn at your own pace, checks your understanding regularly, and tailors each session to suit your needs. I always feel encouraged, confident, and well supported after every session.

Kirsty has been a truly wonderful English tutor for my 11-year-old. She is patient, encouraging, and incredibly skilled at explaining things in a way that is easy to understand and engaging.

My child’s confidence in reading and writing has grown noticeably since working with her, and lessons are always something they look forward to. Kirsty creates a positive learning environment and genuinely cares about her students’ progress. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.
