About Kelly

Hi, I'm Kelly, an online English tutor from Zimbabwe with over two years of experience helping adult and teenage learners build real confidence in Conversational and Business English. I hold a TEFL Certificate from TeacherRecord and I'm a fluent English speaker with Shona as my native language, which helps me relate well to learners coming from different linguistic backgrounds.
My lessons focus on practical, everyday communication skills — from everyday conversation and pronunciation to professional email writing, interview preparation, and workplace communication for Business English learners. I tailor each session to the student's goals, whether that's travelling, studying abroad, advancing at work, or simply feeling more confident speaking English.
I'm patient, encouraging, and structured in my approach, and I enjoy helping students track visible progress over time.

About the lesson

I help adult and teenage learners build real fluency and confidence for everyday communication. My sessions focus on natural speech patterns, active listening, idiomatic expressions, and spontaneous conversation practice on topics relevant to each student's life and interests. As a TEFL-certified tutor with over two years of remote teaching experience, I create a relaxed, encouraging environment where students speak the majority of the time, gradually building fluency without fear of making mistakes.

Perfect! Great tutor with good approach to the student!

Kelly's response
She is a bright, confident communicator with a lovely personality, and she participated really well in today’s lesson. Her spoken English is a real strength, which gives us a great foundation to build on.
Our main focus going forward would be reading, spelling and writing, particularly helping her become more confident when reading unfamiliar words and constructing sentences independently. I would use engaging stories, games and creative activities to keep her motivated while still giving her the structured practice she needs.
I really enjoyed working with her today, and I would love to support her progress. With consistent lessons and encouragement, we can work towards closing the gap between her current written English level and her Year 4 expectations while keeping lessons enjoyable and positive.
