About Katharine
I am a qualified primary teacher with experience across Early Years and Key Stage 1. I have worked in a range of school settings, supporting children with their early reading, phonics, and communication skills.
I have a strong understanding of phonics teaching, including programmes such as Little Wandle and Read Write Inc, and I use this knowledge to support children in building secure foundations in reading and language.

My lessons are calm, supportive, and tailored to each child’s needs. I use clear, structured steps to help build confidence gradually, especially for beginners and young learners.
I specialise in phonics and early reading, using techniques such as repetition, modelling, and interactive activities to support learning in an engaging way. I have experience with programmes such as Little Wandle and Read Write Inc.
Lessons are typically 30–60 minutes, depending on the child’s age and concentration. I work with Reception and Key Stage 1 children, as well as beginners who need support with reading, pronunciation, and basic English skills.
I have experience working in early years and primary education, and I focus on creating a positive environment where children feel relaxed, supported, and able to make progress at their own pace.
