About RICHARD

I am an English tutor who enjoys helping students turn confusion into clarity, especially when it comes to exams, writing, and real communication. Many students struggle not because they lack ability, but because they have not been shown a simple way to express themselves clearly and confidently.

I am TEFL certified, and I work with students preparing for School Entrance Exams, GCSE, IGCSE, and IELTS. I have also worked with students from different parts of the country and from different parts of the world, which has given me a strong understanding of different learning styles and exam expectations.

My focus is always on helping students use English in a practical way, whether that is in exams, writing tasks, or everyday communication.

Outside of tutoring, I spend time playing the piano. It is something that helps me slow down and reset, and it reminds me that improvement comes from patience and consistency, not pressure.

If you are looking for clear, supportive English lessons that actually help you improve, feel free to reach out and let’s get started.

About the lesson

You understand English, but when it comes to exams, writing, or speaking under pressure, things can suddenly feel unclear. That gap between knowing something and being able to use it effectively in an exam is exactly what my lessons are designed to fix.

I work with students preparing for School Entrance Exams, GCSE, IGCSE, and IELTS. My focus is not to overload you with rules, but to help you understand exactly how to approach questions so you can perform confidently in real exam situations.

In my lessons, I break English down into simple structured steps that make reading, writing, and exam tasks easier to manage. We focus on what examiners are actually looking for, especially in essay writing and test preparation.

I use interactive methods such as guided practice, virtual whiteboards, and structured exercises to keep lessons active and focused. You are not just listening. You are learning how to think and respond like a high scoring student.

Every session is designed to build clarity, improve accuracy, and remove the fear that often comes with English exams.

If you are preparing for Entrance Exams, GCSE, IGCSE, or IELTS, I will help you turn confusion into structure and structure into results.

I’ve worked with Richard as my English tutor, and what sets him apart is how intentional he is about helping you actually use the language, not just learn the rules. His lessons are always clear, well-structured, and tailored to your specific needs—whether that’s improving your writing, refining your grammar, or becoming more confident when speaking.

What I appreciate most is his attention to detail. He listens carefully, picks up on small mistakes, and explains them in a way that sticks. I remember struggling to organise my ideas in essays, and instead of just correcting me, he showed me how to think through my arguments step by step. That approach made a lasting difference—I became more confident and independent in my writing.
Richard is also very patient and encouraging.

He creates a relaxed space where you’re not afraid to make mistakes, which makes learning much easier and more effective.

I would strongly recommend him to anyone looking for a committed and thoughtful English tutor. He genuinely cares about your progress and puts in the effort to help you improve in a way that lasts.
