About Reed
I am a full-time educator, currently teaching at an elementary school in Queens, NY, and I have a BA Honors in English. My research and essay writing in literature has earned awards and has been presented at numerous conferences. I am also a published writer with experience in fiction, poetry, playwriting, and creative nonfiction. My specialties include Shakespeare (I would LOVE to teach Shakespeare!) and early modern literature, theater, gender studies, American literature, and digital media integration.

I am highly skilled in adapting my teaching to the individual student, and I bring an improvisational, collaborative approach, focused on achieving the individual goals of the student and the needs of their coursework. I have experience with English-language learning students and students of various accessibility needs. My lessons would be good for: young readers learning to understand and analyze texts; high school students composing essays; college students looking for editing and feedback on their term papers; and creative writers of all sorts. I am passionate about literature, and I want most to help students find useful modes of thinking that invigorate their own passion. I love words, and I love to show people what they can do!
