About Laura

I am an English teacher and I am passionate about my subject. I have been teaching and tutoring for 7 years and aim to help all of my students develop their confidence in English. I have a track record of strong exam passes and aim to make course content engaging and interesting. I completed my teacher training at the University of Strathclyde before teaching at several schools in Scotland. Most recently I have been working at an international school in Thailand so have experience working with students who have English as a second language.

About the lesson

I'm Laura and I am a qualified secondary English teacher. After completing my PGDE in secondary education at the University of Strathclyde, I worked at several schools in Scotland before moving to work at an international school.

I have 7 years of experience teaching Key Stage 3 (Years 7 - 9), GCSE and A-Level. Most recently, I have been teaching CIE IGCSE English as a Second Language, IGCSE First Language English and English Literature and A Level English Language and English Literature.

I offer online tutoring and ensure that my sessions are pupil-centric to ensure that students can develop in areas that they lack confidence. I aim to build upon the taught strategies they use in the classroom to ensure that they are fully prepared if they are sitting exams. I have experience working with a range of abilities and ensure I adapt my lessons to meet the needs of the student.
