About Jacob
Hello! My name is Jacob and I grew up in London, England. I have a passion for both teaching and for learning, especially when it comes to language, and I would love to share my knowledge and expertise with you. My qualifications include a 168-hour TEFL certificate to teach ESL, and a bachelors degree in English. My main interest outside of teaching is food and travel. I love to cook and have so far travelled to approximately thirty countries. I have also lived and taught all over the world; in places such as Cambodia, Australia and India. In my personal life, I am very passionate about music and listen to a wide variety of genres, as well as being an avid reader.

I believe that learning a language should not be scary, but fun! My teaching style has been described as fun and laid-back, with an emphasis on fluency through authentic conversation. The best way to solidify learning is through practise. I like to encourage all of my students to take the lead in guiding a conversation, particularly about something that you find interesting. My lessons typically last for around half an hour, but this is really quite flexible based on individual preferences and needs. My qualifications include a 168 hour TEFL certificate and a Bachelor's degree in English; I also have a wide range of teaching experience. Pronunciation and grammar can sometimes be difficult, but I don't think you should let that put you off learning - that's what I'm here to help with!
