About Hanna
I am a mother of three adult men and one daughter who is currently in Year 13. I understand the complexities of teenagers, their concerns and their "vibe". My children keep me well grounded and fairly up to date with what their worlds look like and how their experience of being in it has changed since I was a young person. I have been tutoring for seven years and also ran a tutoring company for four of those years. Some of my students have been with me for five years as they progress through secondary school. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing them have breakthroughs with their learning and flying through assessments and exams. Having said that, I am equally as comfortable tutoring Year 4 students in basic literacy and numeracy.

I tailor each lesson to suit the needs of my students. I am widely read so can assist senior students with their texts and preparation for exams. I am fully versed in the NCEA and IB curriculums and have worked with several students enrolled with Te Kura. I know what classroom teachers and markers are looking for and can provide useful and timely feedback on students' work while maintaining a high level of professionalism. My tutoring sessions are one hour long and take place over Zoom. I have a degree in Psychology and English/Drama and can quickly establish rapport with both primary and secondary level students. I currently tutor ten students after school, so am now only available for students learning from home during school hours.
