About Taylor

I'm a native Canadian English speaker and I've learned to speak French as an adult. I understand the difficulties of learning a new language and so, I'm here to help! I've been teaching English since 2025 and I have a neutral accent, but I'm familiar with many others. I've studied both the humanities and science. I can assist with formal and creative writing, conversation, and cultural nuances. Whether you prefer a more formal context, or something more casual, I will always find a way to make it enjoyable!

In my spare time I'm a writer, poet, composer, game designer, and I organize a weekly (EN/FR) writer's group. I enjoy cooking, baking, music of all kinds, politics, and cultivating myself into the best person I can be.

About the lesson

I understand what it's like to learn a new language and want to make it fun and easy. I offer flexible and practical lessons to help:

- beginners develop a solid base and a clear accent
- intermediates develop fluency and start using English in their daily lives
- more advanced students navigate intricacies and develop a sense of nuance

I will happily answer any questions you may have, and together we can work on writing exercises, oral conversation, or more technical aspects of English -- all using subjects that matter to you!

Details

In-person and travel: Typically, I suggest meeting a student at an easily accessible location for both of us e.g, the BANQ library. I try to remain flexible, so long as the travel is reasonable though.

Students are encouraged to bring material they would like to work on e.g., homework, a novel, an exercise book, etc. and we can work through it together.
