About Hermine
My demanding undergraduate degree has equipped me with outstanding analytical, textual, and comparative skills across disciplines, languages and cultures. Engaging with literature, critical theory, languages and history has perfected my understanding of their respective importance in building inclusive learning environments for learners. To my academic education, I have combined extensive hands-on experience with children, whether via childcare, volunteering, camp counselling or private tuition. It has allowed me to perfect my teaching skills as I prepared and delivered lessons for students of various ages, as well as my understanding of, and ability to help children with the diverse challenges they face with learning and engaging with their peers.
I have always wanted to teach since I feel it is one of the most essential and wonderful jobs one can have in our society. Knowledge can open so many doors to beautiful, unknown universes. A language is an entry point into a new dimension and a real asset for anyone's future. I love learning about new things which is why you may just find me in a museum or reading a book every chance I get!

Having recently graduated from University College London with a first-class degree in Comparative Literature, I wish to continue my career in education. I am particularly interested in sharing my passion for Literature, the French and English languages, and History with students. This desire is rooted in both my extensive experience working with pupils, and my awareness of the importance of meaningful education to build stronger, and fairer communities. My approach to teaching relies on a deep love for my native languages, and a passion for teaching them. I have a lot of experience with children which has taught me the importance of adapting to each student and persevering. I take an interest in ludic methods: they seem a great way to learn to play and play to learn.
