About Grant
I like learning things.
And sharing what I've learned.
I spent 5-years in public schools, AP level Lang, outperforming my predecessor, state, and national averages. I keep receipts.
I have had multiple students accepted into multiple elite schools including Ivy League, Oxford, Tokyo Tech, et cetera.
I educate people about meta-cognition. It's thinking about... well, thinking. And it can help anyone become better at critical, creative, and communicative thinking.

I believe every student likes to learn. But not every student likes learning the same stuff. If you like to learn about the subject of my class, you'll like my class.
As to teaching techniques most closely associate with social-constructionist theory, follow Dewey principles, agree with Piaget but find Vygotsky mostly complimentary (e.g. disequilibrium can illuminate the zone of proximal development), focus on Bloom cognitive and affective domains, wish to emulate the classrooms of Cline and Fay's Love & Logic environments, prefer the discovery modality, project-based learning, and use tools like patterned group discussions, Socratic seminars, question formulation technique, and a bevy of other such things.
All that to say, I'm not very traditional. But I know exactly when, where, and why to buck it.
