About Ayesha
My name is Ayesha, and I am an Aerospace Engineering student at the University of Central Lancashire. Although I study a STEM subject, I have always had a strong interest in English Language and English Literature and continue to enjoy reading and analysing texts in my own time. As a person and a tutor, I am calm, patient, and reassuring. I take the time to explain things clearly and do not like to rush students before they feel confident and comfortable. I believe learning works best in a supportive environment, where students feel encouraged to ask questions and explore ideas without pressure. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy baking, painting, programming, mathematics, and spending time around animals. I am approachable, flexible, and easy to work with, and I aim to create a relaxed but focused learning environment where students feel supported and motivated.

My approach to tutoring: I specialise exclusively in GCSE English Language and English Literature. English is my strongest subject, and I achieved Grade 9 in both English Language and English Literature, narrowly missing full marks in my Literature papers. I have a strong understanding of what examiners are looking for at the highest bands and focus on helping students reach Grade 7–9 (Band 6) level analysis.
My English Literature specialisms include:
• Power and Conflict Poetry
• Macbeth • An Inspector Calls
• Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
I focus on teaching students how to think like top-band candidates. This includes breaking down quotations in depth, embedding historical and social context naturally, and analysing writers’ methods such as iambic pentameter, structural choices, and language techniques. I teach students how to manipulate quotations effectively to support an argument, rather than memorising pre-written responses.
For English Language, I help students develop strong analytical and creative writing skills. This includes understanding language and structural devices, crafting engaging and purposeful narratives, and learning how to hook the reader while meeting assessment objectives. I emphasise that success is not just about the story itself, but about how language is used to create meaning and impact.
How my lessons work:
I begin by identifying exactly where a student is struggling, whether that is quote analysis, essay structure, context, or exam technique. Based on this, I create a tailored learning plan designed around the student’s goals and the amount of time they want to study with me.
Lessons focus on:
• Building strong foundations in analysing language and structure
• Developing confident, flexible essay arguments
• Using context naturally and effectively
• Moving students into high-level, perceptive analysis
• Making analytical thinking feel second nature
I use real Grade 9 examples, including my own past essays, to show students what top-level responses look like and to inspire more creative and confident writing.
Lesson structure and length:
Lessons are typically 60 minutes and are structured to include:
• Targeted teaching on a specific skill or text
• Guided analysis or writing practice
• Clear feedback and improvement strategies
• Action points for independent practice
Lessons are adapted to suit each student’s pace and confidence.
Who my lessons are for:
My tutoring is ideal for:
• GCSE students (Years 9–11)
• Students studying the texts listed above
• Students aiming to move into higher bands (Grades 6–9)
• Students who struggle with analysis, essay structure, or confidence

Ayesha is truly one of the best tutors I've ever had. She has helped me throughout my studies so far and has helped boost my grades and confidence in the subject so much that I don't think I would've been able to complete my studies without her help. I cannot recommend her enough. She tailors her lessons perfectly to teach me in a way that's best for me, and it really feels like she has my best interests at heart.
I’m happy to recommend Ayesha as a home tutor. I’ve seen how patient and reliable she is, and how well she works one-on-one with learners. She explains things in a clear, calm way and takes the time to make sure concepts are understood.
She is responsible, kind, and genuinely cares about helping students improve. I believe she would be a great choice for any family looking for a supportive and dependable tutor.View more recommendations
